Be part of an amazing 59km-long parade!! > REVIEW

A new and unique experience in the city. Be not only an attendant to one of the largest parades in the country (with an amazing 59km in length) but also join it and follow part of the trial commemorating the 1795 Eulmyonyun Hwaseong Procession from Changdeokgung Palace to Yungneung Royal Tomb. And not only that, get the courage to take a Joseon Dinasty Confucian examination in front of cameras and public cheering to get the right answers (don’t worry, audience helps with the hard questions ;)

I joined for around 2 hours from the starting point near Gwanghwamun Plaza until Seoul Station participating in the parade and the Confucian test, but the festival was 2 days long with several traditional performances and cultural activities. With more than 5,000 participants, more than 500 horses in a long trail (59 km in total) and with 3 participating cities this parade is destined to become one of the most important in the northern part of South Korea.

Don’t hesitate in joining this activity next time, or at least take the time to watch the parade or performances held during the weekend in Seoul, Suwon or Hwaseong cities… I’m sure you’ll make new good memories during your trip to Korea from this cultural activity.
