2018 Korean Dano Festival with African Cultures > Current Event

[EVENT REVIEW]

On 16 June 2018, 100 koreans and foreigners  from 40 different countries took part

in the Korean Dano Festival.Held at Namsangol, the participants engaged in both traditional

korean and african cultural activities to learn more about these cultures.

Despite the hot weather, everyone enjoyed themselves with making traditional korean masks,

playing the traditional African drums, and taking photos decked in traditional korean hanbok.

The participants also had the pleasure of watching an African drum performance,

and had fun playing korean traditional games as well as trying out a traditional dano

ritual by washing their hair in water boiled with sweet flag (changpo),

which is believed to make one hair’s shiny.
